The Clever Rabbit and the Greedy Lion
A intelligent rabbit named Chotu used to live in a verdant jungle. Chotu was a little but intelligent. Sheru was a rapacious lion in the same jungle that frightened every animal and insisted on daily food deliveries.
Chotu made the decision to discipline Sheru one day. “Oh mighty Sheru, I’ve found a bigger lion who claims he’s stronger than you!” he remarked as he approached Sheru. “Take me to him at once!” Sheru screamed angrily. Sheru followed Chotu down to a deep well. Chotu remarked, “Look inside, great king,”
Sheru thought it was another lion when he looked into the well and saw his own reflection. To frighten it, he let out a loud roar, but the reflection shouted back! In a fit of rage, Sheru dove into the well to battle and became trapped. The jungle returned to its tranquilly as the animals applauded Chotu’s cunning.

ایک سرسبز جنگل میں چھوٹو نامی ایک ذہین خرگوش رہتا تھا۔ چھوٹو چھوٹا لیکن بہت ہوشیار تھا۔ اسی جنگل میں شیرُو نامی ایک لالچی شیر بھی رہتا تھا جو ہر جانور کو ڈراتا تھا اور روزانہ کھانے کی ترسیل کا مطالبہ کرتا تھا۔
ایک دن چھوٹو نے شیرُو کو سبق سکھانے کا فیصلہ کیا۔ وہ شیرُو کے پاس گیا اور بولا، “اے عظیم شیرُو، میں نے ایک اور شیر دیکھا ہے جو کہتا ہے کہ وہ تم سے زیادہ طاقتور ہے!” شیرُو غصے سے چلایا، “مجھے فوراً اس کے پاس لے چلو!” چھوٹو شیرُو کو ایک گہرے کنویں کے پاس لے گیا۔ چھوٹو نے کہا، “اے عظیم بادشاہ، اندر دیکھو۔”
جب شیرُو نے کنویں میں جھانکا تو اسے اپنا ہی عکس نظر آیا، جسے وہ دوسرا شیر سمجھا۔ اسے ڈرانے کے لیے اس نے زور سے دھاڑا، مگر عکس نے بھی واپس دھاڑ سنائی! غصے میں شیرُو کنویں میں چھلانگ لگا کر لڑنے کے لیے کود پڑا اور پھنس گیا۔ جنگل میں سکون لوٹ آیا اور جانوروں نے چھوٹو کی چالاکی کی داد دی۔ سبق یہ ہے کہ عقل طاقت سے زیادہ قوی ہوتی ہے۔
